The most rewarding moment for me when directing a show is when I see the “connection” between the performers and the audience. When I know that my vision has truly been brought to life and the message has come through – all the hard work has been worth it.
There is the famous quote from William Shakespeare’s As You Like it-- "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts…”
I have always liked this saying, but I think it needs a more modern twist: “From the moment you are born, you are in your own spotlight. Stand up and shine in it! Figure out what matters because life isn’t a dress rehearsal. Treat every day as if it were opening night and any part you play will be star-worthy.” ~ Lisa Boaz
